Good Morning Britain viewers cast verdict on Robert Rinder as the judge makes debut

Good Morning Britain viewers tuned in to a change on Wednesday's show.

Susanna Reid was back at the helm of the ITV news programme but had a new co-host in Robert Rinder.

Fans will recognise Rob from his own ITV show - Judge Rinder - but he has now swapped the courtroom for the GMB studio.

His appearance on the show was announced last week and will be making two initial stints as the main presenter of the show.

Martin Lewis started the week alongside Susanna and next week, Ed Balls will make his hosting debut on the show.

Kicking off the show, Susanna welcomed her friends a new co-host onto the show.

After Robert mentioned he was intimated, Susanna pointed out their guests must also be intimated about being grilled by a barrister who will take on the 'toughest of cases'.

"They should be afraid," he said with a straight face before Susanna jokingly asked guests Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire if they were afraid.

But just moments into the show, GMB viewers has already made their mind up on Robert.

"Omg this is the best. Can Judge Rinder come again. He would make a great permanent edition. I like his cross examination already!. Good luck Judge Rinder your doing great," tweeted one.

Another said: "Already GMB is watchable again! All the guest presenters thus far are too much for the early morning. But RR's warmth and energy not to mention intelligence shines through so, it's a yes from me!"

"A huge breath of fresh air to Rob Rinder presenting! Can’t he be a regular in the “hot seat” ??" a third asked.

A fourth shared: "@RobbieRinder by far your best choice so far! Intelligent and eloquent, I think he will hold your guests to account and get the answers we all want. Good luck."

"I think you've found your replacement for Mr.Morgan," another said.

A viewer added: "Keep Judge Rinder. The man is hilarious"

GMB is continuing to add to its guest host rosta following the sudden exit of Piers Morgan back in March this year.

Viewers were impressed with Robert (ITV)

Richard Madeley has already confirmed he will continue as a guest presenter on the ITV news programme, after a lengthy break.

The veteran broadcaster, 65, has been one of several guest hosts for the ITV breakfast programme as well as Adil Ray, Alastair Campbell, Bill Turnbull and Martin Lewis who have all stepped up to the main host role in the last eight months.

After today's stint, Robert will return on December 1 while Strictly Come Dancing star Ed, will appear alongside Susanna Reid for three days from Monday, November 15.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV and ITV Hub.
