Good Morning Britain viewers brand show ‘shameful’ as strippers gyrate next to giggling presenters

Strippers are not exactly what you would expect to see on TV in the morning - but Good Morning Britain bucked that trend today, much to the shock of some viewers.

The breakfast show got its four presenters hot under the collar thanks to three male dancers thrusting and gyrating around them as they giggled.

The men were introduced by a very excitable Richard Arnold, who laughed as he said “We’ve brought some strippers for you this morning. Come on in lads.”

The oiled-up men wore blue jeans and sauntered in before gyrating and thrusting against a giggling Richard, Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins - and a less happy looking Ben Shephard.

The bizarre segment came off the back of entertainment reporter Richard recapping Love Island’s Men at Work challenge, which saw the boys vie for the title of ‘buffest builder’.

Dressed in yellow hard hats, high vis jackets and donning a tool belt, the male Islanders had to compete in various games before Ovie was named the winner.

Some viewers were definitely not happy seeing so much naked flesh over their cornflakes and took to Twitter to brand the show ‘shameful’ and ‘sexist’.

One tweeted: “GMB using male strippers really is sexist, shameful and there are children watching too.”

A second said: “Shocking to see #GMB using male strippers this morning.  Imagine if it was the other way around.  Social media would go into meltdown.”

Another said: "What was the point in the male strippers? So random and awkward! Not sure what I've just watched! Who the hell signed this segment off #GMB."

While another posted: "@GMB Can we have women strippers next? No, thought not #gmb."

But not everyone was outraged - some viewers took it in a humorous way.

One tweeted: “Crying laughing at #GMB those strippers are hilarious.”

Another said: “Ben Shepherd’s face at having to watch male strippers at 6:11am is a mood.”

GMB airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
