Good Morning Britain under fire as viewers slam 'embarrassing' interview

Good Morning Britain came under fire for an 'embarrassing' interview on today's show.

The ITV news programme is currently rotating between a mixture of guests hots - and Wednesday's edition was anchored by Charlotte Hawkins and Ranvir Singh.

However, it seemed as though the duo had been given incorrect information during their interview with Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon.

Charlotte Hawkins said: "You always wanted to be a rock-star, didn't you? I read that you even wanted to do Eurovision."

The Welsh actor, best known for his portrayal of Ramsay Bolton in the hit HBO series, was perplexed by the comment he wanted to appear in the international song contest.

He said: "Did I? I don't ever remember that."

Charlotte pointed out it was written down in her interview notes - and this wasn't the only inaccurate fact during the segment.

Ranvir asked Iwan to talk about his band's festival performance at the weekend when it was a solo show - and Charlotte incorrectly suggested the actor's son was celebrating his birthday today.

And fans took to Twitter to blast the interview.

Emma said: "That was painful to watch.. do your research #GMB"

Kate added: "What an embarrassing interview @GMB …..had they done no research?"

Shaughna commented: "That was the most awkward interview I think I’ve ever seen"

Jakki posted: "# gmb pulling out all the incorrect facts about Iwan this morning."

One viewer joked whether the presenters had been victims of a prank show.

Angela tweeted: "Was Ant and Dec in their ears with those questions. Every fact wrong"

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV and ITVHub
