Good Morning Britain shares I'm A Celebrity update as it's revealed series is likely to return to Wales

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! could be returning to Wales once again following the latest from Australia.

The Australian Prime Minister has ruled out re-opening the country's borders until 2022. You can read more on this here.

It means the show could return to Gwrych Castle in Wales once again following a successful stint in Abergele in 2020.

"No jungle, potentially?" GMB presenter Kate Garraway asked Richard Arnold on Thursday's show.

"No," he responded, adding: "Great news for the good folks of Wales though because it looks like this morning that I'm A Celebrity will be a case of Get Me Out of Gwrych once again after another blow was dealt to the popular ITV show after Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison ruled out reopening the country's border until 2022."

"Meaning those celebrities could be breaking Welsh cakes with Kiosk Cledwyn back in Gwrych Castle in North Wales for a second time in November."

He added that the Prime Minister said he did not believe Australians had an "appetite" for welcoming tourists if it meant having more lockdowns and that he would only open the borders when it was safe to do so.

And while the location for this year's series is yet to be confirmed by ITV, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly said they would be happy to return to Wales in a recent interview on Lorraine.

Dec said: "We've got a lovely alternative to go back to Wales.

"We had a great time there, we had a really lovely series and the people of North Wales made us feel very, very welcome so we'd gladly go back there."

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6am on ITV.
