Good Morning Britain's Richard Arnold left 'sobbing' on air in 'heartbreaking' entertainment segment

Richard Arnold was left 'sobbing' as he returned to Good Morning Britain with the latest entertainment news. The showbiz reporter appeared on the ITV news programme with hosts Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis on Wednesday (May 3) for his usual segment when things quickly became emotional.

Richard couldn't hold it back thanks to singer Lewis Capaldi and his latest music video which has left his fans in floods of tears. The hitmaker's loyal following have been posting videos to TikTok to share their emotional reactions to the video for his track, Wish You the Best.

Released last week, it features a postman named John, played by Harry Potter star David Bradley, and his adorable dog Willow. In the clip shared GMB, viewers saw the sweet bond between pet and owner. However, later in the video, John sadly passes away leaving his beloved companion Willow heartbroken as she mourns her loss his graveside.

Fans have already been branding i "the saddest video ever" and admitting he had already watched it and had cried a lot, Richard was once against fighting tears after seeing it once more live on the early morning news programme.

Susanna asked entertainment and showbiz guru Richard: "Did you cry?" to which Richard replied: "Oh Susanna, oh mate. I mean any pet lover..." before cutting to the clip of Lewis' video.

As the cameras then returned to the London-based studio, a choked-up Richard said: "Heartbreaking, it's heartbreaking isn't it?" Co-host Martin asked, "Are you about to blub?", as Susanna joined in to add "He's gone! He's blubbing!"

He then replied: "I just think it's beautiful, it's beautiful." The camera panned to the GMB crew all pretending to wipe away their tears with tissues behind the scenes as Susanna quipped: "Oh they're off."

And it wasn't just Richard as GMB viewers were also soon left in bits. @ESNYSOFIA tweeted: "@LewisCapaldi 'wish you the best' music video just partly played on @GMB and quite honestly think the whole national probably ended up crying."

@sjetaylor said: "@GMB Oh my days watched the Lewis Capaldi video - am in absolute bits." @staceee95_ added: "No me crying at half 8 in the morning because of @LewisCapaldi new music video."
