Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan tells 'snowflake' parents they should 'toughen' up their kids

He's been back all of five minutes but Piers Morgan is already on the war path.

The Good Morning Britain presenter told parents on Tuesday's edition of the ITV show that they should 'toughen' up their kids, branding them 'snowflakes'.

The 54-year-old made his comments during a debate following Action for Children's call for more investment into children's services, asking is childhood too stressful?

Piers said: "Maybe you should be a bit unpopular with snowflakey parents, they need to learn to toughen their kids up."

The controversial host also said that children with anxiety 'need to get a grip'.

And, of course, some viewers were not impressed.

One said:"Piers Morgan saying that children with anxiety should get a grip because there are starving kids in the world is the most stupid thing I’ve heard".

"It’s not fair when kids don’t have the same start though @piersmorgan and not all of them will turn out like Oprah or Alan Sugar! #GMB," added another.

A third commented: "Piers is sooooo disrespectful"

But some did agree.

Piers Morgan was back on Good Morning Britain today (ITV)

"Is childhood to stressful? I agree @piersmorgan you don’t win in life at everything and children need to learn that #GMB," commented one viewer.

Another added: "Bloody love piers!! Only person on tv who speaks the truth! Stop shoving depression down our children’s necks they’ll all be absolute wrecks when there older!!"

Viewers were left divided yesterday when Piers was replaced by Richard Bacon on the morning news show.

Welcome back Piers!

Good Morning Britain air weekdays at 6.30am on ITV.
