Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan not happy as Dr Hilary says car washing breaks coronavirus rules

Piers Morgan was left scratching his head following advice dished out by Dr Hilary Jones.

The TV doctor told Brits they shouldn't be washing their cars during the coronavirus pandemic, leaving Good Morning Britain presenter Piers concerned about his Aston Martin.

Piers asked the doctor to clarify rules regarding people washing their cars in the street, with Dr Hilary branding car washing "unessential".

He then asked Dr Hilary Jones if he could clean his Aston Martin in the street, revealing his "first world problem", Birmingham Live reports.

But Dr Hilary, in his segment on GMB yesterday (April 15), insisted he was not allowed to get a sponge and hose on his motor.

Piers asked: "Can I wash my Aston Martin in the street? The windows are all getting filthy and I have to drive myself to work.

"I imagine there's a lot of people out there who are driving, not Aston Martins, but vans, lorries.

"What is the rule? There are no car washes open. Are you allowed under government guidelines to wash your car?"

Dr Hilary insisted that no one should be washing their car on the street as it poses an unnecessary risk.

The doctor said: "Washing your car is unessential apart from the windscreen for safety. Leave your car dirty for the timebeing."

Dr Hilary replied: "It’s not essential. How many million cars are there out there? Can you imagine if everybody started washing their cars because they had some time off."

Dr Hilary answered: "You don’t need to have shiny bumpers to get to work. You just need a clean windscreen."

He added: "I don't think you need to get the hose out and the bucket and the suds. You really don't need to do that. Just clean the window get a cloth and off you go."
