Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan alarmed as he's told show is 'hanging by a thread' by director

Piers Morgan was left confused and rather startled over a revelation about Good Morning Britain at the start of Wednesday's show.

Piers and reguar co-host Susanna Reid were back at the helm of the ITV programme for another day when he dropped the bombshell that'd he'd been told in his ear that GMB was 'hanging by a thread'.

Susanna and GMB colleague Ranvir Singh were equally baffled and, attempted to offer an explanation to millions of viewers at home, Piers said: "Just to put into context what we get in our ear.

"You're probably imagining at home it is just calm, and quiet and not much going on... it's a constant stream of consciousness from our director who is emotionally erratic."

Susanna chipped in: Well, on the edge I think is the phrase."

Looking alarmed, Piers continued: "He literally, just as we were about to come on air, we all heard the words 'this show is hanging by a thread!

What? What do you mean, is it being cancelled? What do you mean? It will be some sort of technical glitch no one else would have spotted."

Piers and Susanna gave their director a chance to explain what had gone wrong but he wouldn't be drawn on what the glitch was and instead heaped praise on the presenters.

Reacting to the confusing moment, one viewer, clearly not a big Piers fan, tweeted: "It really is time for GMB to realise they are destroying their show with Morgan on it. Surely," to which another viewer replied: "Yes mate even the director told him the show is hanging by a thread."
