Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway makes cringe-worthy blunder about K-pop band Monsta X

Good Morning Britain viewers were left with their heads in their hands when host Kate Garraway made an awkward blunder.

The newsreader attempted to introduce K-pop sensations Monsta X to the ITV morning show.

As the band prepared to make their debut with hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, the trip discussed the group made up of seven members.

But it’s then that Kate made a major mistake, something she herself had predicted moments earlier.

Fans were waiting outside the studio hoping to meet the boys, recorded by the camera crew.

Susanna said of the fans: “They’re very excited, as are we.”

The girls were then heard shouting “we love you” to the boys, with Ben and Susanna questioning if the affection was aimed at them.

Kate was quick to correct them though, before making a blunder about the band.

She said: “I don’t think they mean you, I think they mean K-pop,” before being corrected by Ben who said: “Monsta X?”

Kate agreed, but actually said: “Yeah, Monsters Inc,” referring to the band by the name of a Pixar movie instead of their correct name.

Kate then blamed Ben for making her say it (ITV)

The trio erupted into giggles, while Kate was left mortified over her mistake and even blamed Ben after admitting she told him moments earlier she feared she would make the mix-up.

Ben refused to take any responsibility for her slip up, while failing to realise he too was getting their name wrong.

Ahead of his hilarious interview with the boys, he kept calling them “Monsters X” instead of Monsta X.

Good Morning Britain airs all week at 6am on ITV.
