Good Morning Britain's Ed Balls makes surprising Love Island prediction for 'really cool' contestant

It might not have been a conversation you would have expected. But the former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer turned ITV Good Morning Britain host has given his opinion about who would win Love Island.

Former Nottingham High School pupil, Ed Balls, was hosting GMB on Monday, July 25. During the show, he took a stand on who he thought would win the ITV dating show.

Chatting to a fellow host on the ITV morning show about 'the bookies' favourites' and who stood a chance of scooping the prize money at the end of the hit show, the GMB presenter said: "I think Danica is actually..." He continued: "She was in the last three, but I think Danica, in the next couple of days.. " He trailed off before adding: "I think she is really, really cool and she's strong, she's been really persistent and I think the country out there loves her.. so you know... I wonder".

Suprised by the prediction, Ed's counterpart went on to reveal his thoughts. "Well the Twittersphere's all over Davide and Ekin Su, rapidly becoming everyone's favourite couple, Danica aside". The programme went on to show Twitter comments supporting the favourites. "This is true love, I swear", wrote one fan. "Ekin Su and Davide need their own show asap. I simply cannot let them go in a week", wrote another. "I could, possibly", quipped the presenter, before adding, "even dumped islanders Josh, China and Coco are backing them to win".

Bookies favourites for the show put Davide Sanclimenti as the top male to win at 4/9 according to PaddyPower and Ekin-Su Culculoglu the top female favourite. Unfortunately for Ed Balls, Danica Taylor is tipped at 30/1.
