Good Morning Britain's Ben Shephard defended by fans as his ITV Tipping Point appearance sparks concern

Ben Shephard was defended by viewers of Tipping Point after some were left concerned by his appearance. The presenter was back fronting the ITV quiz show on Tuesday (January 17) with three new contestants taking on the giant machine.

Sarj, Pauling and Richard were hoping to beat the drop and walk away with some cash. But instead of focusing on the game at hand, viewers were distracted by Ben during the hour-long pre-recorded instalment.

Fans claimed the 48-year-old looked quite ill and worried he was poorly. @Nickthered123 tweeted: "This is the lamest final round I’ve ever seen and Ben looks like he’s just woken up and needs to rub his eyes. #tippingpoint."

@janwilkins59 said: "I don't normally comment on peoples appearance, but Bens' eyes are really worrying me!! #TippingPoint." @sugarpuff67 asked: "What’s wrong with Bens eyes? They look different #tippingpoint." @joseph44214 quipped: "#TippingPoint Guess Ben is suffering being a West Ham fan like me, not a good time."

But according to the Daily Star, others were quick to defend the Good Morning Britain star. One fans said: “Why is everyone commenting on Ben’s eyes? I think he looks great!! Another commented: "Stop worrying about Ben’s appearance he looks the same to me."

Last week, GMB viewers feared Ben Shephard was about to 'throw up' live on the show as he was 'punched'. The presenter returned to the helm of the ITV news programme alongside Kate Garraway and throughout the programme, Kate appeared delighted at the thought that Ben was set to be 'pummelled'.

She shared how Ben, 48, had agreed to take on middleweight boxer Chris Eubank Jr as he appeared live in the studio to chat about his upcoming fight. Later in the show, Chris arrived in the studio where he spoke to Ben and Kate about his upcoming bout with Liam Smith on Saturday, January 21 which will take place at the AO Arena in Manchester.

But as their interview came to an end, it was over to a nervous Ben, who had begun to sweat about what was about to happen, to make his boxing debut head-to-head with champion Chris. Ben was challenged to endure 20 seconds of body punching from the boxer in hilarious scenes that took place live in the studio today.

Tipping Point and Ninja Warrior star Ben grimaced and groaned during the brief punch-up but after surviving the match, Ben exclaimed: "Was that the slowest 20 seconds ever!? That went on for about three days!" But Chris praise Ben for his efforts and even invited Ben for round two. "He [Ben] needs to come down to my gym next week and we need to have a proper spar," he said.
