Good Morning Britain's Adil Ray told to 'calm down' by viewers after another MP spat

Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray has come under fire from viewers for his 'ranting' after his second spat with a Government minister in as many days.

On Monday, tempers flared as Adil and co-host Susanna Reid were joined by Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng.

While Kwarteng was keen to emphasise the success of the vaccine rollout, Susanna and Adil, particularly, pushed him to admit the Government made a 'catastrophic error' with the Indian variant.

Refusing to be drawn on any criticism of the Government, Kwarteng responded: "The point that I tried to make which you haven't addressed, is the fact that the vaccine rollout has actually made people very safe against the Indian variant."

His reply did not sit well with Adil, who fired back: "Hang on, I'm not going to accept that!

"You're talking about the vaccine rollout, in that case why do we have red list countries at all?

"It seems to me like you're finding excuses to try and justify why you made a catastrophic error with India, rather than accept you made a mistake."

Another MP was put in the GMB firing line on Tuesday as Environment Secretary George Eustice spoke to Adil and Susanna.

And, just like on Monday, Adil read the riot act when it came to the Indian variant, despite Eustice claiming that 'the government is doing everything it can' to get us out of the pandemic' including speeding up the rollout of the 2nd vaccine to stop the Indian variant.

Slamming the Government's delay on putting India on the 'red list', Adil shouted: "If you know that there's high cases and they're doing lots of testing, why do you air on the side of 'well it's still OK, we'll let them come?'"

As Eustice began to reply: "well we didn't..." Adil jumped straight back in to interrupt: "yes you did! Yes you did! 20,000 Indian travellers came here - a combination of Indians and British Indians came here by the time you eventually put them on the red list.

"We had 30 flights a week in that time. You were warned about this! The Home Affairs Committee warned you just before you put them on the red list and you still allowed them to come for three days.

"That was 900 people each day that came in that time who were then supposed to go home and self-isolate.

"George Eustice, why don't you just accept to the nation that you've made a mistake?"

Watching Adil lose his temper for the second day in a row was too much for some people watching at home.

Urging bosses to tell him to calm down, one viewer tweeted: "For god's sake will someone tell Adil to calm down, give him a valium or something he's going to have a heart attack."

Equally unimpressed, another viewer reacted: "Adil with the whole shouting thing is just an absolute bore to watch and so embarrassing," and a third posted: "Adil ranting again at a MP, when are you going to realise MP's do not answer or admit any decisions made have been wrong."

However, others are loving Adil's no nonsense stance to getting answers from Government officials, with another tweeting: "Loving Adil and Susanna on GMTV dragging Eustice over the coals."
