Good Morning Britain guest apologises for Prince Andrew gaffe in Queen's Jubilee row

A guest on today's edition of Good Morning Britain apologised for making an error during a row over the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Thursday's episode of the ITV news programme was hosted by Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins. They were joined by Angela Levin and Emily Andrews who clashed over whether Harry and Meghan should attend the celebrations.

Angela criticised the couple and said they were putting "pressure" on the monarch as she marks 70 years on the throne. The royal biographer said: "She's the mother and grandmother so she should make the decision because it's her day.

"I don't think you can then influence all the population to feel exactly the same. I am a keen monarchist and I think it's badly timed. Harry and Meghan shouldn't come because they're putting more pressure on the Queen when she has a very hard four days."

Adil quizzed Angela on whether Prince Andrew should be involved in the celebrations as the 62-year-old is expected to be absent from the public celebrations. However Angela apologised as she referred to the Duke of York as Prince William in her answer.

She said: "You haven't asked me about William, but if you want me to talk about Prince William I think he's shamed the Royal Family as well."

Angela apologised as Adil clarified she was referring to "Prince Andrew".

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV Hub
