Good Morning Britain forced to apologise after Harry Enfield swears live on air

Good Morning Britain was in hot water after today's episode when Harry Enfield swore live on air.

Monday's episode of the ITV breakfast news programme was hosted by Ranvir Singh and Richard Bacon.

They were joined by the famous sketch comedian Harry Enfield who joined the duo to promote his stage adaptation of The Windsors.

But the broadcasters were forced to apologise for comments the 60-year-old made when he was reminiscing about his partnership with Paul Whitehouse.

He said: "I was thinking about Jimmy Tarbuck for some reason and how when we were young, we used to take the p**s out of him a lot."

Ranvir Singh stepped in to correct the BAFTA award-winning comic.

She said: "Hello, language. Take the mickey. Sorry, children."

Harry Enfield apologised for his remarks and Good Morning Britain viewers took to Twitter to comment about the awkward exchange:

One user said: "#GMB Harry Enfield oh dear #Cringeworthy"

Another added: "Phone Ofcom #gmb"

A third commented: "HE'S DROPPED THE P BOMB"

A fourth tweeted: "Reports to Ofcom are going to be off the chain following Harry Enfield on #GMB aren’t they"

A fifth said: "Awkward!"

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays from 6am on ITV and ITVHub
