Good Morning Britain fans want Ranvir Singh to be Piers Morgan's permanent replacement

Ranvir Singh replaced Piers Morgan as a presenter on Good Morning Britain today and now fans are calling for her to be given the position on a permanent basis.

The move came after he stormed off the set of the show yesterday following a heated discussion with weather presenter Alex Beresford about the interview the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had with Oprah Winfrey which aired on Monday night.

Piers made comments questioning the validity of Meghan Markle 's mental health concerns which led to more than 41,000 people complaining to Ofcom.

It was revealed yesterday Piers would be leaving the morning talk show.

A statement released by ITV on Tuesday said: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.

"ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."

Since this morning's programme aired, fans were quick to share their views on Twitter, with Ranvir getting a lot of praise.

Elizabeth said: "Ranvir Singh presented #GMB this morning in place of Piers and I couldn't be more pleased, being replaced by a woman of colour in this particular instance is exactly what he deserves. Poetic justice."

Julie said: "Ranvir is brilliant. They make a great presenting team."

Sara said: "Hearing Ranvir say 'with Susanna joining me from 6:30' instead is stunning, what a glow up!"

Lisa said: "You’re doing a great job Ranvir. I’m a big fan of yours. Always real and probing, but compassionate and caring too!"

Some fans have expressed how much they want Ranvir to be the permanent replacement.

Wendy said: "Tuned in to GMB this morning and thought Ranvir was brilliant - hope she becomes permanent host."

Jennifer said: "Ranvir is great, she should be PM [Piers Morgan] permanent replacement and joined by Alex Beresford."
