'Good luck with that!' - Everton fans send clear message to Spurs amid talk of shock £30m move

Spurs are believed to be ready to make a £30million move to sign Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes this summer, according to The Telegraph.

The Portuguese international has been heavily linked with a move to north London in the past but the deal has never managed to come off.

Gomes is currently spending the campaign on loan at Everton and he has made a huge impression during his time on Merseyside.

The ex-Valencia man has impressed so much that the Toffees are desperate to get his signature on a permanent deal as soon as possible amid interest from other clubs.

The 25-year-old doesn't have a long-term future at the Nou Camp and Spurs are one of the teams that could launch a summer move.

Having lost Mousa Dembele to China, as well as Christian Eriksen's potential departure, midfield will be one area that Mauricio Pochettino will look to strengthen.

The club had in fact considered signing Gomes in January 2018 but he remained in Barcelona.

Spurs have kept tabs on the player ever since and chief scout Steve Hitchen was at Anfield in December to watch the midfielder in action against Liverpool.

Gomes is certainly enjoying his football on Merseyside at present and he revealed in an interview with the Liverpool Echo that he isn't thinking about his next move just yet.

"To be honest, I try not to think about that," he said.

"One thing football has given to me is teach me how to manage situations and how to enjoy it day by day.

"Everyday is a new challenge and every weekend in the Premier League is a new challenge and so I only try to think only in the present.

"If I think further ahead than that then I will probably lose my mind in some way so I am trying to finish the season in the best way possible, give my best in every training session and in every game.
