'Good luck' - Tottenham fans wish Mauricio Pochettino well as Newcastle eye managerial appointment

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been identified as Newcastle United's primary managerial target as their prospective new owners look to make a high-profile appointment at St James' Park.

The former Spurs chief, who has been out of work since last November, just months after guiding the club to the Champions League final, has been pinpointed by Newcastle's prospective new owners, with them prepared to offer him a £19m-a-year contract to lure him to the North East.

A report by Sky Sports has revealed that the Argentine is high on Newcastle's wish list, with their owners said to have grand ambitions for the future of the football club.

For now, the prospective Newcastle owners are happy to let current boss Steve Bruce continue as manager until the end of the season - whenever that may prove to be - before swooping for Pochettinio.

The prospect of Pochettino returning to management in the Premier League has got Spurs fans talking and the general opinion appears as though they are willing to wish their former manager well.
