'Good luck to him' - Arsenal fans back the board amid claims of Alexandre Lacazette agreement

Alexandre Lacazette has an agreement with the Arsenal hierarchy that he will be allowed to leave if the club don't qualify for the Champions League, according to reports.

The French striker has been linked with a move away from the Emirates in recent months, with only two years left on his contract in north London.

Despite being named as Arsenal's Player of the Season last year, Lacazette has endured a disappointing campaign this time around and was recently dropped in the Premier League by Gunners boss Mikel Arteta in favour of Eddie Nketiah.

And according to The Times, the former Lyon striker has been told he will be allowed to leave this summer if the Gunners don't qualify for next season's Champions League.

Mikel Arteta praises his team after playing three games in seven days

Some Arsenal supporters took to social media to respond to the reports, with many believing the club are better off selling the striker and recouping funds.

One wrote: 'What Champions League club would even want him at the moment?'

Another posted: 'This guy is an absolute joker. He has dropped one of the worst seasons ever from an Arsenal striker and still thinks he is good enough to play in the Champions League.'

After beating Everton 3-2 last weekend, Arsenal sit ninth in the Premier League table, seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

But in light of Manchester City's two-year ban from the Champions League, the Gunners could yet qualify for Europe's premier competition by finishing fifth.

They can also achieve qualification through winning the Europa League, as they continue their campaign against Olympiacos on Thursday.
