I'm a bit shocked to read at the bottom of a press release that has just arrived from The London Rock and Roll Festival, which seems to be taking place towards the end of this month and the beginning of next, that Little Richard has had a heart attack.
It simply says:
NOTE TO EDITORS: A third concert, featuring LITTLE RICHARD, LITTLE WILLIE LITTLEFIELD and MIKE SANCHEZ has been postponed until March 2009, due to Little Richard having to undergo surgery following a mild heart attack.
This is the man of whom Elvis once said: "Your music has inspired me - you are the greats."
He is about 76 years old so it's not tragically young... but it's tragic nonetheless. Did everyone know except me? What is a "mild" heart attack as opposed to a serious one?
