Good fortune for Khera as he takes early Autosport National Driver Rankings lead

He has taken nine victories already this year, including two at Oulton Park last weekend in the opening Ferrari Challenge UK event, to move comfortably clear of the chasing pack.

Khera's other overall 2022 triumph so far came in his Lamborghini Huracan in the British Endurance Championship opener at Silverstone in March, while he has taken six class wins, which have handed him top spot.

The winners' table is simply a leaderboard of the drivers who have taken the most victories in races held in the UK. All wins are treated equally, so success in a Citroen C1 race has equal weighting to winning in the British Touring Car Championship.

As demonstrated by Khera, class wins also count, but only when the divisions are based on car characteristics rather than driver ability.

Then, when drivers have achieved the same number of wins, their position is determined by which had the highest average number of starters in their races.

Heading the charge behind Khera is Will Gibson, the Legends racer having picked up a further win at Pembrey last weekend to add to the quartet he had previously achieved at Brands Hatch.

Gibson is one of four Legends racers in the top 10, Irish Legends competitor Peter Barrable next up in third.

He has also taken five wins in 2022 and, like Gibson, has achieved four over a single event - his coming as car racing returned to Bishopscourt for the first time in three years last weekend.

Further down the top 10 are John Mickel (eighth) and Miles Rudman (ninth), who each took a brace of wins at Pembrey.

Other drivers to initially figure at the head of the rankings are BMW M3 pilot Dave Griffin - a regular near the sharp end of our leaderboards in recent seasons - along with Mazda MX-5 ace Fraser Fenwick, Caterham star Harry Senior (19th in last year's final order) and early Junior Saloons pacesetter Harry Hickton.

The top 50 table will now be updated each week on Autosport.com, so keep checking back to see how the leaderboard changes over the course of the year.
