Good for Jalen Hurts for calling out Washington for their dumpy and dangerous stadium

This is the online version of our daily newsletter, The Morning WinSubscribe to get irreverent and incisive sports stories, delivered to your mailbox every morning.

Jalen Hurts led the Philadelphia Eagles to a win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday and then moments after the game he luckily escaped a scary situation without an injury after a railing at FedEx Field collapsed and sent a bunch of Eagles fans falling to the ground around Hurts.

It was a crazy scene that could have led to many injuries and if it had happened a second later Hurts might have been crushed by the fans.

Hurts and the fans learned something firsthand that we’ve all known from a distance – FedEx Field is the biggest dump in the NFL and sadly represents the awful person who owns the team.

The stadium needs to go, and so does Daniel Snyder,.

Hurts on Tuesday penned a letter to Snyder and his franchise in which he asked “what follow-up action is being considered” to make sure something like this won’t happen again? Good for the QB for calling out WFT because it would have been easy for him to just move on and forget it ever happened. But it did happen and Snyder’s team should be called out and be embarrassed publicly for it.

WFT released a statement Sunday night that said they were happy nobody was seriously injured and that they’d be looking into it. Blah blah blah.

Snyder continues to be a bad person and FedEx Field continues to be an embarrassment. The field has long been one of the worst in the league (just ask former Washington QB Robert Griffen III about that). The atmosphere around the stadium, which is far from D.C., is awful. And now fans are falling through railings and almost injuring themselves and players.

Clean it up, WFT. It’s about damn time.

Quick hits: NFL MVP voter against Aaron Rodgers… Brian Kelly’s take on accents… Jags fans ready to clown it up… And more.

Rob Schumacher-Arizona Republic– NFL writer Hub Arkush said he’s not voting for Aaron Rodgers for MVP because he’s the “biggest jerk in the league” and that’s just a dumb reason not to vote for him.

– Brian Kelly was on ESPN last night talking about his fake southern accent and how people from Boston don’t have a strong accents. He was likely being sarcastic but the joke fell flat.

– Lots of Jaguars fans are going to be wearing clown suits to the season finale this Sunday.

– Here’s a look at the NFL playoff picture heading into Week 18.
