Good chance Josh Gordon suits up for Seahawks Monday night

The plan all along has been for wide receiver Josh Gordon to suit up on Monday night when the Seattle Seahawks take on the undefeated San Francisco 49ers.

Gordon, claimed off waivers a week ago, is healthy after battling ankle and hamstring injuries in New England, and he’s excited to get to put work in on the field this week.

Coach Pete Carroll was impressed with Gordon’s ability to pick up the offense, which bodes well for his ability to contribute in all facets of the game on Monday.

“He did really well,” Carroll said on Saturday. “He was very impressive in terms of picking stuff up, [he] studied over time. He fit in really well. He’s a really good athlete. You can really tell that he’s got a lot of potential to be a big time player. It was fun to see him on the practice field, he did a nice job.”

Carroll went on to say there’s a good chance that Gordon plays on Monday, but he wouldn’t confirm that yet. Gordon was not listed on the final injury report however, so it would be a surprise to see him inactive.

Gordon gives Seattle yet another vertical threat, alongside Tyler Lockett and rookie DK Metcalf. Russell Wilson has always thrived throwing the deep ball, and having a trio of speedy receivers will only make him more dangerous as he builds on his MVP campaign and looks to lead the Seahawks back into the playoffs.
