Goo Hara's brother begged her to stay strong after death of close friend Sulli

Goo Hara's brother has revealed how he begged her to stay strong after the sudden death of her close friend Sulli.

The K-pop star was laid to rest in a private wake for friends and family yesterday.

The service, at a hospital in Seoul at 6am, was attended by her loved ones, including all of her former Kara bandmates.

At the service, Goo's brother shared text messages that he had sent in an attempt to cheer her up.

Goo was found unconscious after an apparent suicide attempt in May and had been embroiled in a row with her ex, and her brother had tried to help.

According to the Koreaboo portal, the English translations of the text messages read: "I'm begging you. Please don't have any negative thoughts, don't get sick, take care of your health."

He said in another message: "In the future, I hope you get married, have children and live for a very long time."

And he told her: "When you're sad, cry it all out."

Goo replied that she loved her brother and told him not to worry about her.

He said to her "you must be so sad, eat lots of yummy food in Japan", adding: "I will bring you some delicious food tomorrow."

It's believed the text exchange happened after the death of fellow K-pop star and Goo's close friend Sulli in October.

Another wake for Goo was held in a different place for fans.

Goo was found dead at her home on November 24. She was 28.

Foul play was ruled out by authorities.
