'Gone this summer' - Tottenham fans worry after Jose Mourinho names line-up to play Bournemouth

Tottenham supporters have taken to social media to react to Jose Mourinho's team selection against Bournemouth.

Spurs are hoping to make it back-to-back Premier League wins as they take on Eddie Howe's side at the Vitality Stadium.

The north Londoners beat Everton 1-0 in their last outing, but Spurs boss Mourinho has made several changes for the clash on the south coast, with some notable absentees.

Son Heung-min is rested, perhaps with Sunday's north London derby against Arsenal in mind, with Steven Bergwijn and Erik Lamela are providing support to Harry Kane.

Spurs fans have been calling for the return of Tanguy Ndombele, but the Frenchman has again been named on the substitutes bench by Mourinho.

One fan tweeted: "Ndombele will be gone in the window now, surely?" Another said: "No one can deny it now. Ndombele gone this summer for sure. Opens up room for a glamour purchase?"

The 23-year-old has not started any of Spurs' matches since the season restarted despite  Mourinho  praising his efforts during the break.

The Portuguese opened up in more detail about why the talented midfielder has not been getting minutes, praising Ndombele's ability.

"Nothing happens when the player has no talent," he said. "So when a player has no talent, nothing happens.

"You are born without potential, you die without potential. When you have talent lots of things can change and lots of things can happen.

"It’s one year since he arrived but six months since I arrived and, maybe I am not the guy to go through what happened in the first six months which I think is very, very important.

“When a player arrives from a different club, a different country, from a different football culture, what happened during the first six months I don’t know.

“I know when I arrived there were problems. Injuries, small injuries, physical condition and that broke that initial impact when a player starts working with the manager and it broke the immediate impact you can have with other players.

“Now it’s a situation where everyone has to adapt to it, I want everyone to adapt to it and the club wants - when I say the club I mean the structure - wants everyone to adapt to it. Which is the facts that we are a big club and we want to be a bigger club."
