There are no easy shots in golf if the focus isn’t there, and unfortunately for PGA hopeful Justin Warren, he learned that the hard way this week.
During Monday’s qualifying round for the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship, Warren earned his way into a sudden-death playoff in hopes of capturing the final spot in the weekend’s PGA event. This would have been Warren’s first-ever PGA Tour start, and he looked to be facing the easiest of putts to keep that dream alive.
All he needed to do was tap in a putt from from a couple feet away. But this happened instead:

Warren seemed to rush into the tap-in and missed the otherwise simple putt. It was heartbreaking to watch — the kind of miss that will stick with a player for a long time.
Golf is just cruel like that.
As tough as that miss will be to swallow for Warren, he’s taken the moment in stride. He shared the video of the miss on his Instagram Story.
At the very least, he’ll have a lesson about concentration to take away from the putt into his next opportunity. There will be other chances.
