Victoria will host the Australian Open men's golf championship in 2027 at a new sandbelt course, Peninsula Kingswood, with NSW locked out for the next four years.
Golf Australia has announced the Open will be played on Victorian courses in 2027, 2029 and 2030, with South Australia securing hosting rights for the championship in 2028 at the soon-to-be redeveloped North Adelaide course.
Located 55km from the CBD in Frankston on the Mornington Peninsular, Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club will be hosting its first major national tournament next year with the Victorian venues for the later editions still to be confirmed.
Already boasting two of the country's top 20 golf courses, the club will develop a composite course layout for the Australian Open.
