Golf star Bryson DeChambeau pays emotional tribute to father following his death

Bryson DeChambeau has penned an emotional farewell to his father following his death.

The golf star's father Jon, passed away at the age of 63 following a long battle with diabetes with the news confirmed on Saturday.

DeChambeu has spoken openly about his father's health in the past, with his condition forcing him to miss out on watching his son play in some of golf's biggest competitions. He posted a series of pictures alongside his father and the rest of his family on social media, including a throwback picture from when he was a young boy, kitted out in golf gear.

"Love you Dad. I'm sad to see you go but you've been through way too much pain in this life," he wrote.

"I'm so happy you are at peace. Now you get to be with me and watch me at every event I play. Thank you for being an amazing Dad and I'll see you in the next life."

Jon was a former pro golfer himself and taught his son the game from a young age before going on to the top of the men's game.

DeChambeau then added: "Life is short. Take every moment you can with your family and say I love you."

Jon suffered kidney failure in 2014 and his health deteriorated before an old school friend got back in touch and donated a kidney in 2017. He had to have his leg amputated as he fought the disease.
