Golf fans had all the jokes about Bryson DeChambeau’s enormous hook off the tee at the Masters

At the start of the 2020 Masters first round on Thursday morning, Bryson DeChambeau was doing what he tends to do on the tee: mash. But his 11th tee shot went left. Far left.

On the swing, he had the look of a player who’d been bragging that Augusta National, listed as a 72 on the scorecard, was actually a par 67 for him. The moxie is through the freaking roof! And so the driver shot went through the freaking trees. (He’s lucky it didn’t go through a freaking roof.)

It was such an ugly sight that he decided to take a provisional shot off the tee. But there was good news: DeChambeau didn’t need to play his provisional. He found his first shot, made a decent save shot, and parred the hole.

With DeChambeau, who won the U.S. Open, and his powerful tee shots being one of the most interesting stories heading into the tournament, everyone took note of the hooked shot. And people made jokes.

Yes, he looked silly. But he STILL GOT PAR! He’s ridiculous.
