Golf ball thrown from moving car hits seven-year-old in the face

A golf ball that was thrown from a moving car hit a seven-year-old boy in the face, leaving him with a facial injury.

The young boy was walking alone along Ynysycynon Road in Tonypandy, Rhondda on Thursday, April 29, at 5pm when the incident happened.

A golf ball was thrown from a moving car and hit him directly in the face in an "act of stupidity."

He suffered minor injuries from the incident and ran home to tell his mother who called the police.

Police are appealing to anyone who may know anything about the incident to come forward, and have warned that the "act of stupidity" could have resulted in a life-changing injury.

Local Pc Christian Freeth, of South Wales Police, said: “This was an act of stupidity which could have resulted in a serious, even life-changing injury had it hit the young boy’s eye or another part of his head. Anybody who witnessed what occurred or who thinks they know who was responsible should contact us."
