Valued at a market cap of $240.6 billion, The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (GS) is a leading investment banking, securities, and investment management firm that provides a wide range of financial services to corporations, governments, institutions, and individuals. The New York-based company is expected to announce its fiscal Q3 earnings for 2025 before the market opens on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Ahead of this event, analysts expect this investment banking giant to report a profit of $10.48 per share, up 24.8% from $8.40 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has a solid trajectory of consistently surpassing Wall Street’s earnings estimates in each of the last four quarters. In Q2, GS’ EPS of $10.91 outpaced the forecasted figure by a notable margin of 15.7%.

For fiscal 2025, analysts expect GS to report a profit of $46.54 per share, up 14.8% from $40.54 per share in fiscal 2024. Furthermore, its EPS is expected to grow 14.1% year-over-year to $53.12 in fiscal 2026.

On Jul. 16, shares of Goldman Sachs rose marginally after its strong Q2 earnings release. Due to solid growth in its Global Banking & Markets division, the company’s overall revenue improved 14.5% year-over-year to $14.6 billion, surpassing consensus estimates by 8.1%. Moreover, its EPS of $10.91 advanced 26.6% from the year-ago quarter and came in 15.7% ahead of analyst expectations. Higher investment banking fees, a rise in equities and fixed income revenue, along with strong growth in net interest income, acted as tailwinds for the company.

Wall Street analysts are moderately optimistic about GS’ stock, with a "Moderate Buy" rating overall. Among 24 analysts covering the stock, nine recommend "Strong Buy," one indicates a "Moderate Buy," and 14 suggest "Hold.” While the company is trading above its mean price target of $732.42, its Street-high price target of $855 suggests a 7.6% potential upside from the current levels.
