Golden Tate sends out cryptic tweet hinting at Eagles not working on contract extension

Eagles wide receiver Golden Tate wants to play for a contender and has made it clear that he’d love to return to Philadelphia. If Tate has it his way, he’ll get a new deal sooner than later. After hearing that the Falcons inked linebacker Bruce Carter to an extension on his deal, Tate tweeted out this cryptic message, insinuating that he’d be open to an early signing as well.

Tate, acquired in a deal with the Detroit Lions prior to the league’s trade deadline, is expected to test free agency after posting 20 catches for 278 receiving yards and a touchdown in eight regular-season games (three starts) with the Eagles. Tate’s highlights include the game-winning touchdown pass in the Birds wild-card win over the Chicago Bears.

The Eagles could end up choosing between Tate and Nelson Agholor, who’s due $9.38 million this season.
