Golden Globes winners - live updates: Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson accept award for 'Shallow' as Sandra Oh wins for 'Killing Eve'

The 76th Golden Globes have begun, marking the unofficial start of the awards season. 

Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh are hosting the event, which will see the best in film and television being celebrated by the industry.

The ceremony started at 1 am GMT (5pm PT/8pm EST) at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills and is currently under way.

Winners so far include Bodyguard star Richard Madden, A Very English Scandal's Ben Wishaw, and Michael Douglas for The Kominsky Method.

Adam McKay’s Dick Cheney biopic Vice leads the film nominees with six nominations, ahead of Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut A Star is Born, The Favourite from Yorgos Lanthimos and Peter Farrelly’s Green Book, all of which have five nominations each. Nominations for television are more widely spread across multiple titles, with The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story in the lead with four nominations.

This year’s ceremony will also see Jeff Bridges honoured with the Cecil B DeMille Award for his “outstanding contribution to the world of entertainment” and a new trophy launched rewarding special achievement in television. The statuette will be named after its first recipient, comedian Carol Burnett.
