Golden Globes 2026 best dressed: Charli xcx, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lawrence

The 2026 Golden Globes are here! And while they may be called the Golden Globes, last night’s red carpet was definitely dominated by a considerably more demure shade: black.

Monochrome looks were all over the Golden Globes red carpet, with Charli xcx, Selena Gomez, Timothée Chalamet, Ayo Edebiri, Jenna Ortega, Ariana Grande and more stepping out in achromatic outfits.

While there may have been a lack of colour, there was certainly no dearth of drama when it came to the Golden Globes red carpet. For Charli xcx’s black and white look, the Brat hitmaker donned a delicate, Black Swan-esque feather bodice by Saint Laurent, complete with a white column skirt.

Then there’s the meticulous craft that went into each outfit: The voluminous white trim on Selena Gomez’s black velvet Chanel gown took 323 hours to make, comprising 200 flowers and feathers made from organza and silk chiffon.

Selena and Charli weren’t the only stars showing off some plumage, with freshly minted red carpet favourite and Marty Supreme star Odessa A’zion draped in a black ostrich feather stole, which appears to be vintage Dolce and Gabbana. She paired the item with long, wide leg black trousers and silk gloves, which she accessorised with two gargantuan rings.

So, who brought the light amidst all this dark red carpet dressing? Jennifer Lawrence, for one. The Die, My Love star broke up the night’s dusky theme with a floral gown by Givenchy, featuring woven flowers on a sheer, blush pink canvas.

It was quite the switch-up, not only for the dark-dominated red carpet, but also for Lawrence, who has become famous for her low-key “cool mum” street style, championing quiet luxury brand The Row like no one else. Her Golden Globes look brought forward a fresh dose of femininity, proving that Lawrence can still play around with her red carpet style.

Jessie Buckley was also a breath of fresh air, arriving in an off-shoulder baby blue Dior number. Also in Dior was Priyanka Chopra, who broke up the black with a deep navy gown that featured a satin draped bustier and a two-tiered silk skirt.

Then there was man of the moment Hudson Williams, star of viral gay hockey drama Heated Rivalry, who appears to have outshone nearly every other male attendee in his ivory Giorgio Armani tux, complete with an unbuttoned silk shirt and pleated cummerbund.
