Golden Globes 2022 winners - Full list including Will Smith, Kate Winslet and Mj Rodriguez

The 79th annual Golden Globe Awards took place last night but the awards ceremony was a little different than usual this year, having been scaled-back by its organisers.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) - which is responsible for the awards - had previously announced that the awards ceremony wouldn't be televised this year.

And there was no red carpet, star-studded audience or celebrity presenters, with the event instead having been held privately at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday night.

The ceremony came following controversy last year over a lack of diversity within the HFPA. The organisation however has since said that it's worked to address this issue.

The winners of the awards - which celebrates work in both TV and film - were announced on its website and social media, with British stars like Kate Winslet among them.

She was awarded Best Actress in a Limited Series or Television Movie for her role in Mare of Easttown. Andrew Garfield and Kenneth Branagh also won in the ceremony.

The remake of West Side Story was given several awards including Best Motion Picture for a Musical or Comedy. It's lead actress Rachel Zegler and supporting actress Ariana DeBose won their respective categories as well.
