Golden eras

A man shows a set of pure gold coins commemorating the change of era at the Takashimaya department store in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. On the right-hand coin are the kanji characters for the new era "Reiwa," while the left-hand coin says "Heisei." Each one is eight centimeters tall and 4.4 centimeters wide, and weighs 60 grams. The sets went on sale Thursday at the Nihonbashi store for 1.296 million yen, and will be available through Monday.
