Gold prices at leading jewellery retailers rose sharply today (Thursday, August 6, 2026) with leading jewellery brands increasing their 22-karat gold rates. Across major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram, the price of 22-carat gold jewellery increased at Tanishq as well as at Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Kalyan Jewellers and Joyalukkas.
The Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association's (IBJA) indicative retail selling prices of 14k, 18k, 20k, 22k and 24k gold and 999-purity silver also saw a sharp rise today.
Gold outlook
Mr. Prithviraj Kothari, managing director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., president of IBJA says, "Gold broke above $4200 and silver neared $63 as hopes grew for a diplomatic breakthrough between the US and Iran, easing oil-price pressure and reducing pressure on central banks. Investor sentiment improved after Trump described "very good discussions" with Iran, with a proposed Iran-Oman deal potentially giving Tehran control over Strait of Hormuz shipping. Separately, July's ADP report showed just 44,000 private-sector jobs added — the weakest since January — pulling the market-implied odds of a September Fed rate move to 57% from 67%. Technically, gold eyes $4,500 and silver could extend toward $70-71 on a decisive breakout."
