With that potential minefield avoided, they now sit just two wins away from their intended goal. Martino will undoubtedly let his team know that their performance in the previous round wasn’t good enough and that it’ll need to improve if they are to win it all.
Haiti is coming off a thrilling comeback win over Canada that saw them trailing 2-0 at halftime only to score three times. That shocking elimination of an up-and-coming talented side continued their remarkable run in this summer’s tournament. Now they must come face-to-face with Goliath and attempt to pull off the nearly impossible. While a Haiti win isn’t unthinkable at this point, it would certainly rank among the biggest upsets in Gold Cup history if they pull it off.
