Northern Gold Coast police stations have reportedly been locked down after man on the run threatened a "shootout" with officers on social media.
Mark Lutgenau has been on the run for more than 24 hours after an alleged domestic violence incident at Upper Coomera on Monday night.
Police seeking the 37-year-old shut down parts of Ormeau, including a local primary school, on Tuesday amid fears he was armed with gun.
Media reports say a number of police stations have been locked down after in internal memo alerted them that Lutgenau had made threats on social media.
"I have nothing let (sic) in my life and will be in a shootout with police," he reportedly wrote on Wednesday.
Officers told AAP they were continuing to track Lutgenau, but refused to comment on the internal memo or reports of station lockdowns.
The search for Lutgenau began after police were called to an alleged domestic violence incident at an Upper Coomera home on Monday night.
He had fled by the time officers arrived. No one was physically harmed at the home.
Police tracked him to nearby Ormeau and declared a Public Safety Preservation Act to create a cordon, which resulted in a primary school and a number of homes being locked down.
