Gok Wan is first name announced for Pride Cymru's Big Weekend 2019

The first round of acts for this year's Pride Cymru Big Weekend in Cardiff has been announced, with TV presenter and fashion expert Gok Wan providing a DJ-set alongside All Together Now winner, Shellyann Evans.

Over three days in August, more than 75 acts will provide a variety of entertainment that ranges from music acts to drag performers to comedians.

The festival will take place from Friday, August 23 to Sunday, August 25 , outside City Hall and will have three stages and a Glee comedy tent. There'll also be the famous parade through the city.

Gok said: "As a proud gay man myself, it’s encouraging to see so many people come together in one place and celebrate love and diversity. I’m thrilled to head to Wales this August for the 20th year of Pride Cymru’s Big Weekend.

"It’s become one of the biggest Pride events in the UK and it’s a great honour to get to represent the LGBT+ community on this platform.”

As well as Gok and Rhondda singer Shellyann, also announced as performers are The Valli Boys - a tribute act which celebrates Frankie Valli and Lady Gaga tribute artist, Donna Marie.
