Gok Wan visits Edinburgh student union and gets behind the decks for live DJ set

Gok Wan visited an Edinburgh university student union bar to perform a live DJ set this week, with the fashion icon now offering more than just expert tips and cooking demonstrations.

A video posted on TikTok shows Gok behind the decks at the University of Edinburgh student union at Potterow for a special freshers week performance.

Much to the delight of first-year students, Gok took a break from appearing on TV to serve up a classic DJ set in the capital and appeared determined to get the crowd interacting with his toe-tapping hits.

With celebrities making club appearances during Edinburgh freshers week becoming a regular occurrence in recent years, the likes of Paul Chuckle and recent Love Island contestants have all been spotted in some of the city's busiest nightclubs.

Posting the video on TikTok, one student wrote: "Icon behaviour at the student union last night with Gok Wan. Never thought I'd see GokWan DJ."

Gok was performing on Tuesday night at the union bar, standing behind his own sparkly deck and with bright coloured strobe lights darting around the room. Tickets to see the British fashion consultant and TV presenter were priced at £14.

As well as being a regular face on British television for almost two decades, Gok now advertises himself as a DJ and has contact details on his social media for clubs to book a special performance.

The Edinburgh University Students Association are also hosting another celebrity on Friday night, September 16, with Love Island 2022 contestant Danica Taylor hosting a beach party and a meet and greet session.
