Gok Wan heads to Manchester for DJ set but issues worrying health warning

Gok Wan arrived in Manchester this evening for a charity event but has admitted he might be forced to "hobble" on stage. The TV presenter turned musician is set to DJ at the Sedulo Foundation Ball tonight (June 29) but has issued a warning to fans about his health.

He is performing at the event, which is being hosted at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester, alongside pop band Liberty X and Brit Award-winning singer Shola Ama. The ball is set to raise money for youth organisations across the region.

But while Gok is still ready to DJ the event, he sent a message to fans on Instagram admitting he was ill.

He posted a picture of himself on the train to Manchester this afternoon holding a fan in an effort to keep cool. Alongside the picture, he wrote: "Manchester I’m on my way… but I have gout #dj #hobble."

After hearing the news, those on Instagram came online to offer them their support. Jmgwoodbridge said: "Blimey. Have a break already. Hope it clears up, it's agonising. Love Manchester.

Jerry_cf56 said: "Gout is Awful m8, Was lovely to see you at Hippo recently."

Some even offered the star their own personal remedies. Allywright7539 said: "That’s hideous the pain is unreal, lots of water with slices of lemon( flush the build-up of U acid away ) take it steady."

Meanwhile, missy.murphy offered: "Drink 8oz of tart cherry juice twice a day! It reduces the inflammation. It’s a game changer!"
