An internationally-acclaimed take on butter chicken curry will be available to order in London from next week.

Mumbai’s Goila Butter Chicken – who last year won the "people’s choice” prize for its eponymous dish at India’s best known food festival, World On A Plate – will offer its signature curry on Deliveroo from Monday November 16. The announcement marks the first time the curry, distinctive for its smoky flavour, has been permanently available outside of India.

Chef Saransh Goila first bought his dish to London with a fortnight’s residency at popular Marylebone restaurant Carousel this February. Carousel’s director Ed Templeton said of it: "My brother Ollie and I are life-long ardent curry fans and when we tried the butter chicken in February, it blew our minds and we knew we had to make it a thing here in London.

“We are super exited to be partnering with Saransh to make Goila Butter chicken a permanent fixture here in the capital.”

The dish will be served with Dal Makhani and a sourdough naan, Jeera Rice, pickled onions and coriander chutney, priced at £19.50 for one person or £35 for two.

Mumabi’s Goila Butter Chicken  first opened in 2016 and swiftly picked up international notice, leading to a guest judging spot for Chef Goila on Masterchef Australia. His fans include top chef Massimo Bottura, who holds three Michelin stars at his Modena restaurant, Osteria Francescana, which has twice been named the world’s best restaurant.
