Gogglebox is set to return to our screens tonight for a 17th series.
The show will air this evening (February 26) at 9pm on Channel 4, taking the place of Russell T Davies’ It’s A Sin , which finished last Friday.
The sofa favourite is expected to see some familiar faces and even some new ones - as Channel 4 confirmed it was accepting applications for the show in autumn of last year.
But Bristol’s own Plummer brothers, and Lee and Jenny have already confirmed they’re taking part in the new series by posting on social media.
Tristan Plummer posted a Bridgerton-style announcement on Instagram - suggesting Abbie and Georgia, The Sandifords, Stephen and The Ven Family are also going to be making appearances in the new series.
Whilst Lee and Jenny were the first to confirm their excitement about the new series - posting on Twitter following the Gogglebox Christmas special saying: "See ya in February!”
Gogglebox itself has also tweeted ahead of the show, giving us a glimpse of what viewers can expect.
In a Twitter post uploaded on Wednesday (February 25) the official account posted: “WE’RE BACK!
“Join us for BRAND NEW #Gogglebox this Friday 9pm on @Channel4.”
A video posted by the Gogglebox account features Giles and Mary, The Sandifords, Ellie and Izzie, Stephen, Lee and Jenny, The Michaels, The Malones, The Siddiquis and The Worthingtons - which suggests these families will return for series 17, although this hasn’t been confirmed by the show.
It’s also not been announced whether we’ll see Bedminster’s own Mary and Marina, who were spotted getting their coronavirus vaccinations together in January.
