Gogglebox viewers say they won't watch it again as show is hit with complaints

Channel 4 has come under fire from Gogglebox fans following Friday's episode.

The latest instalment of the much-loved show saw us once again invited into our favourite families' homes as they commented on the week's best TV.

But while Gogglebox viewers normally rave about the show, many were not happy with what they saw during this week's programme.

Complaints came thick and fast after cast members were shown "traumatising" scenes from Netflix's latest nature documentary series Animal.

The show follows some of the world's most fascinating creatures, as well as their brutal fight for survival.

One scene showed a pack of kangaroos being chased by hungry dingoes through the Australian outback.

One kangaroo, carrying a joey in her pouch, started falling behind. The tension thickened as the young kangaroo fell out of the pouch and was eventually left behind by its mum for the dingoes to feast on.

Everyone on the show was horrified, with many at home feeling the same way.

One wrote: "I am absolutely appalled. I never watch nature programmes because nature is cruel. Why would this form part of your 'entertainment' show?"

Another said: "#Gogglebox never watching it again after the joey situation.

A third said: "I’m sick of all the traumatising animal videos they’ve started to show, the kangaroo one just pushed me over the edge!! It’s meant to be a lighthearted fun show. Last time I’ll be watching."

Another simply said: "STOP PUTTING HORRIBLE ANIMAL DEATHS ON."

One viewer today (Monday) tweeted: "I’m still upset about the baby kangaroo on #gogglebox" with a crying face emoji.
