Gogglebox viewers were in hysterics as Dave and Shirley returned to screens on Friday, May 19. The armchair critics from Caerphilly joined the show in 2015 and have been firm favourites among fans ever since.
As they sat down in their usual spots during the latest episode, the pair, along with other cast members tuned into Eurovision, Family Fortunes and Amazon Prime's Citadel. The Gogglebox families also watched Channel 4's new sex show.
Called Open House: The Great Sex Experiment, the racy series follows couples as they explore whether relationships can thrive without monogamy. As they settled down to watch, Shirley asked Dave: "What's monogamy now?"

"Sticking to one partner," Dave responded, as Shirley said: "Oh, is it? Right. So what do they call it id you have more than one?"
"Oh I don't know," Dave said, before cheekily adding: "Lucky?" as the pair both burst out laughing. Reacting, one social media user wrote: "I love @DaveAndShirley so bloody funny."
While another added: "These two. Both a credit to Caerphilly," as a third commented: "Just love these two darlings, hilarious."
Googlebox stars Mary and Giles also shared their thoughts on the programme. As they settled down Giles, in reference to the format of the show, said: "We've never questioned monogamy, Mary." Before adding: "Suits us, doesn't it?"
However, Mary seemed to become more open-minded about the show. Following Shanice’s note saying she would feel more secure having a foursome rather than a threesome, Mary agreed: "I can see why." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
