Gogglebox viewers in stitches as Jenny gets lube and hand sanitiser mixed up

Gogglebox viewers were in fits of giggles as best friends Jenny and Lee had a very awkward mix up.

Jenny rubbed a clear liquid on her hands, while she asked Lee if he was sure it was definitely hand sanitiser.

He responded by telling her to read the label - and they both collapsed into horrified laughter.

"Are you sure this is sodding hand sanitiser?" she asked.

Jenny realised she had made a big mistake (Channel 4)

"Well it looks like hand sanitiser!" replied Lee.

"Well it int', I can tell you it's not," quipped back Jenny, who then had a look at the label.

She looked shocked as she remarked: "Ooh, you've been having a good time, you! Flipping hell!"

Overcome with the giggles, Lee asked her what the label said.

"It's sex lubricant!" replied Jenny, wiping her hands gingerly.

"And I was pushing it and all!" she added.

But, she pointed out, it was very moisturising on hands, and "gets rid of your wrinkles".

"I can't get rid of it!" she said, while Lee was laughing so hard he had to leave the room so he didn't wet himself.

Viewers were just as tickled as Lee by the awkward blunder, with one tweeting: "Howling at the hand sanitiser/lube conundrum on #Gogglebox ".

"Catching up on #Gogglebox I think we should make Jenny And Lee live together always @leegogglebox #Razor #Lube #SharingIsCaring " wrote another.

A third added: " #Gogglebox TV moment of the year: Jenny rubbing lube on her hands cos she's confused it for hand sanitiser".

"Finally stopped laughing at Jenny using Lee’s lube thinking it’s hand sanitiser on #Gogglebox " quipped a fourth.

Gogglebox recently responded to backlash from fans, with the show continuing amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Some viewers criticised the show as some of the cast continued to film together, despite them believed to live in a different household.

A message before the show began read: "Just in case you're worried, they are all keeping to the guidelines of social distancing."
