Gogglebox viewers complain as technical problems hit Channel 4 again

There have been more technical problems affecting Channel 4 tonight (Friday, October 1) with some viewers saying there were no subtitles available on Gogglebox.

The broadcaster said it is suffering broadcasting issues and apologised again tonight.

One twitter user said: "Another of my favourites on Channel4 Gogglebox without subtitles.

"Not great when you're profoundly deaf. Hoping programmes will be reshown with subtitles when (if) they sort the week-long technical difficulties they've had."

Another viewer said: "Still no subtitles but then it has only been a week, modern technology eh."

While this person said: "What Is going on with absence of subtitles for the "Hard of Hearing" on all C4 broadcast programs, losing the will here.. So unfair on those wishing to enjoy Gogglebox..."

Since Channel 4 and More4 went off air for a while last Saturday, the broadcaster has subsequently said multiple times that issues have resurfaced.

Channel 4 tweeted: “We are still experiencing technical difficulties, especially with accessible versions of our shows.

“We’re very sorry and are doing all we can to fix the problem.”

E4 were, at least playing the right episode of Married at First Sight tonight after another mishap saw an old episode broadcast.

Red Bee Media, which handles playout services for Channel 4 and 5, said last week the disruption was due to an “activation of the fire suppression systems” on Saturday evening.

Tonight, the Googlebox TV addicts were watching Vigil, Strictly Come Dancing, The Andrew Marr show and Serengeti II among others.
