Gogglebox will cover Harry and Meghan interview and Piers Morgan's GMB tantrum

Gogglebox is back tonight, and its stars have a lot to sink their teeth into.

The show will cover both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey, as well as Piers Morgan's final ever Good Morning Britain, which saw him storm off-set in a huff.

TV critic Scott Bryan confirmed the news on Thursday, confirming that the show would be back at 9pm this evening (Friday 12 March).

Harry and Meghan's interview saw them make a number of bombshell claims, including an allegation of racism against an unnamed member of the Royal Family.

Meghan also told that she'd suffered with suicidal thoughts.

Their chat with Oprah was broken down by Piers Morgan on Tuesday's GMB - his last ever show, as it transpired - clashing on-air with Alex Beresford and leaving the set to cool down.

Piers had cast doubt on the veracity of a number of Harry and Meghan's claims - including Meghan's mental health struggles - while Alex defended them and branded Piers' behaviour "diabolical."

The tense scenes saw broadcast watchdog Ofcom rack up more than 40,000 complaints, and that evening ITV confirmed Piers had left the show.

Speaking on Wednesday morning, Piers said his split from the broadcaster had been "amicable", adding: "I'm just going to take it easy and see how we go.

"I believe in freedom of speech, I believe in the right to be allowed to have an opinion. If people want to believe Meghan Markle, that's entirely their right.

"I don't believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth and I think the damage she's done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and frankly contemptible.

"If I have to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge that she came out with in that interview, so be it.

The stars of Gogglebox will be mocking Piers' GMB walk-out (ITV)

"I think it's fair to say, although the woke crowd will think that they've cancelled me, I think they will be rather disappointed when I re-emerge.

"I would call it a temporary hibernation."
