Roast dinners are one of the best parts of British cuisine.
From Yorkshire puddings to roast potatoes, surely everyone can get on board with a Sunday roast. Jamie Oliver, however, has other ideas, and Gogglebox's stars were not happy.
Jamie: Keep Cooking Family Favourites included a segment where the Essex chef subbed out roasties for the vegan staple of lentils. "I'm all in for roast potatoes, always. But to change it up, lentils are amazing." In response, Izzi said: "That’s not a roast dinner, that’s a mid-week tea!"
Ellie, meanwhile, said: "We’re not French, we’re British - we want potato!"
And Sally said: “We don’t want to fall on love with lentils, we want mash!”
Baasit Siddiqui perhaps summed it up best by saying, "Just imagine if you were expecting a roast dinner and someone gave you lentils."
