Gogglebox stars praise 'brave' Meghan over her and Harry's Oprah Winfrey interview

Gogglebox stars have rallied round to support Meghan Markle after she made bombshell claims about the Royal family in her and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Gogglebox cast were all glued to Duke and Duchess of Sussex's interview - and several had a lot of sympathy for the decisive pair.

In Friday's episode Sisters Ellie and Izzi were horrified when Meghan said that she had thought about suicide.

And Pete and Sophie were stunned that Meghan said she was told that she couldn't go for mental health help because of how it would look.

"B*llocks to how it looks. If you're not not well, you're not well," Sophie declared.

But there were plenty of viewers who were unhappy with what they felt was an unbalanced reaction to the interview, the Nottingham Post reports.

Tina said on Twitter : "Always been one of my fav programmes, but the reactions to the Meghan interview has really annoyed me. Feels very scripted!"

Another tweeter, Lorian, said: "I am just wondering how they managed to get no one who disagrees with the Megan and Harry interview!"

Another person asked: "We haven’t forgotten she’s an actress have we?"

A third tagged Pete and Sophie and wrote: "Spot on with everything you said tonight about the interview."

Another person added: "At last, some decent, normal, humane responses to Meghan's revelations regarding her suicidal thoughts. There's been too many callous comments this week (not just from the GMB moron) that have shocked and saddened me."

During the interview Meghan claimed racist comments were made to Harry about the potential skin colour of the couple's then unborn child Archie.

Oprah revealed afterwards Harry stressed “it was not his grandmother or grandfather who were part of those conversations”.

Gogglebox airs on Fridays on Channel 4 at 9pm.
